To participate in tournaments, training camps or medical tests, military athletes or their associations have to make an application for the so called departmental note for elimination of fees (short DAuGE) at the responsible army sport center.
So far the process for signing a leave of absence created a huge overhead in administration and tracking. On top of that, the processing of all applications, where some of them still were handed in via FAX, was no longer state of the art. Because of the paper based handling of the application and approval workflow, there was no transparency on the current state of the application for all involved associations, athletes and units of the Austrian federal armed forces.
Because of that, the Austrian Table Tennis Association together with rubicon developed the innovative and modern web-application DAuGE for a fast and transparent processing of the applications for leave of absence. The application is hosted by the Austrian Table Tennis Association, and can be used by all military athletes and their associations via the Internet. Therefore all participating bodies can create an application for leave of absence by simply using a web based form and get status information on application in process.
DAuGE also offers the capability to process results of tournaments through an application and directly generate an entry for the athlete´s profile. Based on that, it is easy to create a track record and a comprehensive standardized profile of the athlete.
„The application DAuGE simplifies the processing of the applications for departmental note for elimination of fees a lot. We could reduce processing time by 70% and even applications on short notice can be handled with a positive administrative decision”, says Mag. Rudolf Sporrer, secretary general of the Austrian Table Tennis Association (ÖTTV)
A user-friendly interface and intuitive sequences created the base to successfully implement this solution for 70 Associations and 9 Military Sport Centers in a very short timeframe. “Especially the use without special training has been an important precondition. More than 400 applications within the first 3 weeks are an impressive acknowledgement”, Thomas Wundsam, the project manager of rubicon is pleased to note.
In the mind of cooperation with in military sports, DAuGE also offers an automated interface to the application KADA to support Austrian top athletes efficient and promptly at the end of their active career.
