  • Is it possible to allow or deny specific file types ?

In Acta Nova you can create a black- or white-list for specific file extensions and / or mime-types. If you use file extensions you can also configure if you deny these file extensions during up- or download. If you don’t create a White- or Blacklist, all file types are allowed.

  • How can I ensure that users only have access to information which is part of their responsibilities?

Acta Nova offers you the possibility to define security by class, like business information or document, on the one hand and on the other hand by concrete object. Administrators can define the permissions of a user by leveraging the role based structure in Acta Nova. Users themselves can create read and write access control lists (ACLs) per object. As a result you get a granular definition of access rights for every user.

  • How can I define my organizational structure in Acta Nova?

Acta Nova offers you the possibility to create a detailed organizational structure of your agency or company. Based on the structure you create groups which are organized in a hierarchical way. Individual user permissions are then dependent on group membership and the role of the user.

  • How can you guarantee that business cases are processed during absence of the appropriate user?

To secure the processing of business cases during absence of appropriate users, Acta Nova offers the concept of creating a proxy user. A proxy user has access to the new or in process business cases of the absent user. Acta Nova differentiates between role-based and personal proxy users. You can also define a time limit for proxy users.

  • Which reporting capabilities are part of Acta Nova?

Acta Nova offers the possibility, in addition to properties of a business case, to search also for individual meta data. This allows a theme based search. Search results can be exported to Microsoft Excel, to do any kind of individual reporting.

  • How can you create a whole paper based file out of a business case including attachments?

Acta Nova offers a feature called “all-up print”. With this feature you can create a single PDF-document which consists of all attributes of the business case, all included documents, incoming data or any other data. The PDF- Document also gets a table of content, separator pages and place holders for non-convertible data. After creation you can print or send the PDF-document.

  • Which workflow engine is used by Acta Nova?

Acta Nova uses its own workflow engine, which and individual component (re-flow) of the OpenSource framework re-motion.
