easyfind – the online lost & found system for improved public service – reaches continuously more citizens in Switzerland. For some time past the canton police Solothurn manages the lost properties of all communities and cities canton-wide with it. Since the end of last year easyfind is also in use at the transport services Zurich (VBZ) with more than 318 million passengers per year. The return rate went up to almost 70%.
The lost property office Zurich is responsible for lost properties found in vehicles of the transport services Zurich (VBZ) as well as on the streets of Zurich. In the course of the implementation all active lost reports of the old application were transferred to the easyfind database, so that the work could be continued seamlessly with the entire data stock. About 1.500 new found property reports are registered per month by the employees of the VBZ lost property office.
At the canton Solothurn the canton police registers und processes lost properties for all 120 communities. In addition the police units of Grenchen, Olten and Solothurn manage their lost properties with easyfind.
Citizens can search online themselves for lost properties with easyfind. Properties registered at the lost property offices are immediately available online. All participating regions and companies are taken into account – now also Solothurn and the VBZ. If no results are returned, citizens can directly create a lost property report that is automatically taken into consideration when lost property is registered in the future, thus triggering an immediate notification in the event of a match.
