Register Nova: Effective implementation of public registers

Stefan Wenig, Head of Research and Development at RUBICON, presented Register Nova at the conference for public informatics of the Austrian consortium for data processing on 18th of November 2014. Register Nova provides the technological foundation for the effective implementation of public registers.

Registers involve many challenges that are often only apparant at second glance. Huge amounts of data should be quickly accessable while being highly available. Data collection and administration should also be possible in a distributed way without causing conflicts. No entry or change should ever get lost and nevertheless the operation should be as cost-effective as possible. Furthermore, there are requirements for safety, traceability and many functional wishes.

Many limitations of traditional approaches can be lifted by the use of Register Nova. It offers standard functions, takes the advantage of cloud technology and reduces the implementation effort of registers.
